Embassy EXBS Adviser followed up on reftel demarches Sept. 30
with MFA Head of Department for Arms Control and Disarmament
Bulent Meric. Meric responded that Turkey was in agreement
with the U.S. on the urgent need for First Committee reform
as well as with most of our specific proposals for achieving
this. He reported that the Turkish First Committee
representative would argue for this reform in his statement
at the First Committee opening session.
