C O N F I D E N T I A L AMMAN 007405 SIPDIS E.O. 12958: DECL: 09/07/2014 TAGS: PREL, PGOV, YI, JO, UNMIK SUBJECT: JORDANIAN CIVPOL PROBLEMS IN KOSOVO: POSITIVE GOJ RESPONSE REF: SECSTATE 190648 Classified By: CDA David Hale for reasons 1.4 (b) and (d) 1. (C) Charge shared reftel points with Foreign Minister Muasher on September 7, emphasizing our expectations for improved leadership, management, and the proper vetting of Jordanian officers participating in the peacekeeping mission in Kosovo. Charge also highlighted the request for periodic reports providing evidence of the GOJ's efforts to meet these requirements. Muasher was very grateful to hear of our revised position and offered Jordan's cooperation in meeting these requests. Charge will follow up in more detail with Public Security Directorate Commander Shurdom, who is responsible for the Jordanian contingent.
