UNCLAS AMMAN 007402 SIPDIS E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: PHUM, PREL, KDEM, JO SUBJECT: JORDAN WITHDRAWS NOMINATION FOR HUMAN RIGHTS COMMITTEE The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs notified post by diplomatic note dated September 1 that the Jordanian nomination of Dr. Khalid Shafeeg Takhayneh for the Human Rights Committee of the U.N. was withdrawn. The nominee told PolOff September 7 that he requested that his name be withdrawn due to family considerations. He expressed his appreciation for U.S. support of his nomination.
