US embassy cable - 04THEHAGUE1899

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

Poloff sent reftel demarche to MFA's Human Rights Director
Karel van Kesteren July 27, and followed up July 28 with
Marwienke Tillema, MFA's Political and Legal Affairs Division
of the UN Department. Tillema appreciated the heads up that
Hansen's term was expiring and said the post has not appeared
on the list published in Brussels by the EU's CONUN (UN
Affairs committee). She promised to check if the EU had any
candidates in mind for the post and get back to us. Poloff
emphasized reftel point that the USG wants to retain its
current position on the UNRWA staff, which Marwienke duly
noted.
