UNCLAS AMMAN 005892 SIPDIS E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: KDEM, PREL, ECON, PHUM, AORC, JO, UN SUBJECT: JORDANIAN ATTENDANCE AT AND U.S. INITIATIVES FOR THE 59TH UNGA REF: SECSTATE 152009 1. Manar Dabbas, USA action officer in Foreign Minister Marwan Muasher's private office, told PolCouns July 13 that FonMin Muasher will lead the Jordanian delegation to the UNGA. Muasher plans to arrive in New York on September 19 and stay through September 30. Dabbas said that Muasher would like to meet with the Secretary in New York during that time, if possible. If not, Muasher would consider coming to Washington for a meeting with the Secretary. 2. PolCouns also presented Dabbas with ref points on the U.S. themes for this year's UNGA.
