UNCLAS ABUJA 001008 SIPDIS E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: PREL, PGOV, ASEC, EFIN, NI SUBJECT: ONLY EIGHT AT DEBT RELIEF DEMONSTRATION REF: ABUJA 1005 1. Only eight people showed up at the supposed debt relief demonstration (reftel) on June 8. They left a letter that they wanted the Ambassador (who is outside Nigeria) to send to the G8 Sea Island Summit, lauding progress under President Obasanjo and calling for debt relief for Nigeria. The "demonstrators" departed without incident. ROBERTS
