Bandaranaike Center for International studies (BCIS) is one 
of Sri Lanka's primary institutions. The Center, in 
addition to regular certificate, diploma and postgraduate 
diploma courses in international relations, conducts 
academic courses, training and research on international 
relations, foreign policy, governance, international law 
and human rights, conflict and peace studies, post-conflict 
development, and rehabilitation.  As the Director of 
Studies of BCIS, Dr. Tennakoon is responsible for 
curriculum development and course coordination.  In this 
capacity, he has considerable influence on the world view 
of a generation of Sri Lankan leaders/legislators.  As Dr. 
Tennakoon has never been to the U.S. an exposure to a broad 
ranging IV on Foreign Policy and Decision Making would give 
him a wider perspective on the U.S. foreign policy.
