Gabrielse agreed to bring the matter before the GONL's weekly steering meeting on military deployments between MFA, MOD and the PM's Office. He said the GONL would have to determine if some assets might be made available to meet this request. He noted that SHIRBRIG had been asked to play a role in Sudan, but owing to the inability of the Netherlands and Denmark to make units available, the Austrian chairman was unable to respond to the UN request.
