UNCLAS YEREVAN 000543 SIPDIS DEPT FOR EUR/CACEN; S/CT E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: PGOV, PREL, PTER, AM SUBJECT: ARMENIA RATIFIES THREE ADDITIONAL INTERNATIONAL TERRORIST CONVENTIONS (U) The National Assembly ratified three international terrorist conventions March 2: the International Convention Against the Taking of Hostages; the International Convention on the Suppression of Terrorist Bombings; and the International Convention for the Suppression of Terrorist Financing. Armenia is now a full party to nine international terrorist conventions. The GOAM has not signed the Convention on Making of Plastic Explosives for the Purposes of Detection, the Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts Against the Safety of Maritime Navigation, and the Protocol for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts Against the Safety of Fixed Platforms located on the Continental Shelf.
