In response to Embassy queries, Mr. Weerakoon of Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs relayed the follwing status report on the Government of Sri Lanka's assistance to Iraq. 2. Sri Lanka's commitment to Iraq was 100,000 kilograms of tea and 100,000 pieces of clothing. As of February 26, 25,000 kilograms of tea has been shipped and the remainder is ready to be shipped in the near future. No garments have yet been shipped. They are still being collected and consolidated. 3. Post will report further information when it is received. LUNSTEAD
