US embassy cable - 03ANKARA6560

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

(C) Poloff Oct. 20 delivered reftel talking points to Kemal
Tuzun, acting head of the MFA Middle East Department. Tuzun
said the GOT has not determined how it will vote on the
resolutions concerning the Israeli security fence. He said
the GOT is considering the USG position, but will likely
follow the EU's lead if an EU consensus emerges. Tuzun noted
that Turkey has in the past voted in favor of UNGA
resolutions introduced by the Palestinians, while issuing a
statement outlining the GOT position on terrorism and the
Middle East peace process.
