Betts. Reasons: 1.5 (B) and (D) (C) PolMilCouns made reftel points to both TGS/J5 Aegean/Cyprus Director RADM Sislioglu and MFA Greece/Cyprus DDG Necip Eguz in separate meetings on October 8, underscoring the serious nature of the reported observations and the legal prohibition on the transfer to Cyprus of US-origin military equipment. Sislioglu said he would need to check with TGS/J3 to verify the facts; Eguz said he understood the seriousness of the issue and that he would consult with TGS and get back with us. EDELMAN
