1. (S/NF) Regarding the missing Boeing 727 discussed in
reftel, on Aug 18 the Sri Lankan Civil Aviation Authority
(CAA) reported negative results on locating aircraft N844AA
(Serial No. 20985).
2. (S/NF) However, CAA did locate the following Serendib
Express 727 in Sri Lanka:

3. (S/NF) On August 25, the Sri Lankan Criminal Investigative
Department (CID) and Directorate of Internal Intelligence
reported negative results on the missing 727.
4. (SBU) RSO will continue to make inquiries regarding the
missing aircraft. On a related issue, NAT Aviation and
Serendib Express owner S.S. Nathan was positively identified
by ECON to be Amcit Sivanathan SIVARASA (DPOB 04/10/60 - Sri
Lanka) based on DSP-11 photo for Passport No. 045541778.
S.S. Nathan is accessible in Sri Lanka and might possibly
agree to an interview should one be deemed appropriate.
