Albright, Charge d'Affaires, a.i. for reasons 1.5 (B) and (D). 2. (C) Charge delivered the text of the ICC Article 98 Agreement to MFA Minstate Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al-Nahyan's Office Director, Sultan Al- Romeithi, on August 17. Charge urged prompt follow-up, noting the principal issues had been clarified in the July video conference and that there was high-level U.S. interest in finalizing this agreement quickly. Al-Romeithi informed Polchief August 19 that the Foreign Minister had sent a letter to the Justice Minister urging him to intensify work on finalizing the agreement. 3. (U) Deputy Legal Affairs Director Yacoub Al- Hosani, who has been our primary MFA interlocutor on ICC Article 98, has returned from leave and we will continue to follow up with the MFA. ALBRIGHT
