non-FAA approved flight schools in Jordan.  The information 
was provided to us by Civil Aviation Authority Director 
General Hanna Najjar:

   Number of students: 8 (2 aircraft) 
   Nationality of students: Jordanian (5), Sudanese (2),

(Note: Sun Air Aviation management told econoff it has a 
joint venture with Global Group Aviation of Glendale,

B) Name: Mideast Academy for Aviation, Maintenance, and 
Management

3.  (SBU) Najjar added that the Jordanian government does 
very thorough police and intelligence background and name 
checks for all flight academy students.  He said that no 
student can receive aviation training without government 
approval based on these checks.
